Lazio have been left anxious after Pedro reported issues with his calf, an injury that already plagued him last season.
The 34-year-old Spanish winger missed four matches in the final weeks of last season due to the calf problem and it’s clearly a reoccurring issue. Pedro missed 11 games in his final season for Roma due to muscle injuries and he was no stranger to the medical department at Chelsea either.
As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Pedro is currently struggling with calf hardening, forcing Lazio to closely manage his condition ahead of the upcoming campaign.
The Spanish veteran’s contract expires with Lazio next year and it’s unlikely to be renewed, so the club are hoping to avoid losing out on his services in his final season. Last campaign, Pedro scored nine goals and provided four assists in 32 Serie A appearances, being a key part of Maurizio Sarri’s squad and an important role model for Raul Moro and Luka Romero.
