Lazio are still in the running for Emerson Palmieri and they’ve reportedly received a boost as Chelsea seem willing to send him out on loan.
The 27-year-old Italian-Brazilian spent last season on loan with Olympique Lyon, not finding space in Thomas Tuchel’s squad, and he had a good campaign in France, scoring one goal and providing two assists in 28 Ligue 1 appearances. Lyon didn’t make his stay permanent, so Chelsea are now looking around for a new taker.
As reported by Il Messaggero (via TMW), Chelsea are willing to send away Emerson on loan this summer, setting a buy option at around €10 million. This would make a deal very accessible for Lazio, so the Roman club may look to make a move once they’ve finalised the arrivals of Matias Vecino and Ivan Provedel.
Emerson is a favourite of Sarri and it’s clear that a new left back is needed this summer, with the current options being the unconvincing Elseid Hysaj and the adapted Adam Marusic.
