Immobile on the Hunt for Record 5th Serie A Top Scorer Title

Lazio star Ciro Immobile is looking to set another record next season as he searches for his fifth Capocannoniere title.

The 32-year-old Italian striker became the Serie A top scorer for a record fourth time last season after netting 27 goals in 31 league matches. In the process, Immobile became the Italian player with the most Capocannoniere titles in history, sitting above a number of legendary strikers who picked up the award three times, like Giuseppe Meazza, Giga Riva and Giuseppe Signori.

As highlighted by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), the only player above Immobile in the all-time Capocannoniere rankings is Milan legend Gunnar Nordahl, who win the award five times in his career. Should Immobile win the top scorer title again next season, he’ll match that, further writing his name into the history books.

Immobile is already Lazio’s all-time top scorer, having netted 182 goals in 259 appearances across all competitions. His contract expires with the club in 2026, so he’s could look to break the 250 mark before the end of his career.
