The pre-season friendly between Lazio and the Qatar national team finished goalless yesterday, with a Ciro Immobile penalty hitting the post.
The Biancocelesti had a decent first half in the fairly unique friendly last night, creating a number of chances as they continued to try and deploy Maurizio Sarri’s tactical system. The closest chance came from the penalty spot, but Immobile’s effort ricocheted off the post, keeping things level.
Qatar shot stopper Yousef Hassan had a good match and he denied Pedro twice to keep Lazio at bay. Adam Marusic and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic also had some decent attempts, but neither could find the back of the net.
The pace of the match dropped significantly in the second half following a round of changes, but the Roman club remained focused, avoiding the errors made in the painful 4-1 loss to Genoa.
Lazio still don’t look ready ahead of the rapidly approaching Serie A season. Their final pre-season friendly is against Valladolid on 6th August.
