Luis Alberto is pushing for a move to Sevilla this summer but talks with Lazio have hit a deadlock.
After six years in Rome, the 29-year-old Spanish midfielder could finally wave goodbye to the Eternal City this summer, keen to make a return to Iberia. Luis Alberto recently handed in a transfer request, making his desires clear, and Sevilla have responded accordingly.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Luis Alberto is continuing to push for a move but talks between Lazio and Sevilla have stalled over the Spanish club’s offer; Claudio Lotito has set a €30 million asking price for the 29-year-old, but Sevilla’s first offer was only €15 million plus Oliver Torres, a proposal that didn’t convince.
Lazio do not want the inclusion of any players in a possible deal for Luis Alberto, aware that they’ll still need to pay 30% of the final fee to Liverpool.
Maurizio Sarri wants Hellas Verona’s Ivan Ilic to replace the Spanish midfielder and this has become a little apparent in recent weeks, with the Lazio midfielder remaining on the bench for the start of the last two pre-season friendlies.
