Luis Alberto Continues to Push for Lazio Departure

Luis Alberto has missed the last two Lazio training sessions as he hopes for return to Spain this summer, with Sevilla in his sights.

The 29-year-old Spaniard missed the training session on Tuesday due to an apparent fever, and yesterday he also missed the double session. Neither absence was commented on by Lazio, but the indications emanating from the Italian capital imply that he’s pushing a little for a move away from Rome.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24) details how Luis Alberto seemingly feels as if he’s at a crossroads in his career; things started positively with Maurizio Sarri at the pre-season training camp in Auronzo di Cadore, but things soon started to get tense again between the pair, leading to the Spaniard being benched for two pre-season friendlies.

Luis Alberto wants to leave Lazio and he’s keen to join Sevilla in particular, but they’ve not come close to matching the €30m price tag set by Claudio Lotito. Lazio aren’t keen to sell the 29-year-old but they could lower the price to €20m should it become clear that moving forward together isn’t the right decision.

Should he leave, Lazio would look to pick up Hellas Verona’s Ivan Ilic to replace him.
