Redundant Lazio midfielder Gonzalo Escalante is set to join the newly promoted Cremonese on loan.
The Biancocelesti have been working hard to try and re-home a number of their unneeded players this summer in order to streamline the squad and lower the wage bill. A number of redundant options have already left, like Denis Vavro and Vedat Muriqi, and now another is set to depart.
As reported by Sky Sports Italia (via LazioNews24), Cremonese have agreed a dry loan deal with Lazio for Escalante, adding another reinforcement to their midfield.
The 29-year-old Argentinian midfielder was looking for a club that could guarantee him consistent minutes and Cremonese seems to be a good fit.
Escalante failed to convince Maurizio Sarri last year and after six months on the sidelines in Rome, he was sent to Alaves on loan. He scored five goals and provided one assist for the Spanish side before he retuned to Lazio last month.
