Lazio have lined up a move for Hellas Verona talent Ivan Ilic as they continue discussing a deal for Luis Alberto with Sevilla.
The 29-year-old Spanish midfielder handed in a transfer request last month and he’s made it clear that he’s keen to join Sevilla, pushing the Biancocelesti into negotiations. Lazio are open to selling Luis Alberto, but they’re not willing to give any major discounts on a possible deal.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio president Claudio Lotito spoke to his Hellas Verona counterpart Maurizio Setti recently to confirm his intention to pick up Ilic should Luis Alberto join Sevilla.
Lazio would be willing to pay the Gialloblu around €12 million plus €3 million in add-ons for the talented 21-year-old midfielder, and this is seemingly enough to close out a deal.
Regarding Luis Alberto, the Roman club want around €20 million total – a fixed base of €15 million with €5 million in add-ons. Sevilla are incredibly keen on a move and talks between the two parties are ongoing.
Concrete updates are expected next week.
