Pedro is reportedly set to miss the season opener between Lazio and Bologna, giving Mattia Zaccagni the chance to start.
Coach Maurizio Sarri is gearing up for the 2022-23 campaign with his squad in Rome and the team are preparing for everything to kick off on Sunday evening against Bologna at the Stadio Olimpico. Eight new signings have been integrated into the squad and a new-look Lazio is preparing to take to the stage.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Pedro did not train with the Lazio squad yesterday due to a right ankle injury. The Spanish veteran is still suffering after he received a bad knock from Kike Perez in the pre-season friendly against Real Valladolid last week.
The day after the match the pain seemed to subside, but the problem refused to go away and forced Pedro to miss the squad training session yesterday. It now seems unlikely that he’ll start on Sunday again Bologna, giving Zaccagni the opportunity to start.
