Manuel Lazzari started where he finished last season, impressing on Lazio’s right flank as he played a key role in the victory over Bologna.

The 28-year-old Italian full back initially struggled to adapt to life under Maurizio Sarri and was even linked with a move away from the club in the January transfer window, but he suddenly started to find his footing and began shining in the second half of the campaign.

As highlighted by La Lazio Siamo Noi, Lazzari had a wonderful season opener against Bologna, flying up and down the right wing as he impressed both offensively and defensively.

He completed 29 of his 35 passes, successfully made three dribbles, made seven progressive carries and took 46 touches, being an active and productive member of Sarri’s squad as they fought back against Bologna.

Lazzari seems set to continue his development under the Italian coach this season and he’ll be hoping to further break into Roberto Mancini’s Azzurri squad, although he’ll likely need to prove his chops a little more first.
