West Ham have reportedly registered their interest in Francesco Acerbi but the Lazio defender is unconvinced about the move.
The 34-year-old Italian centre back handed in a transfer request at the start of this summer after an incredibly difficult year in Rome, where he struggled to adapt to Maurizio Sarri’s system and completely fell out with the fans. Acerbi was not brought to the pre-season training retreat in Germany and his position at Lazio seems clear now.
As reported by La Lazio Siamo Noi, West Ham have made an approach to enquire about a possible move for Acerbi, keen to add a low-cost defensive reinforcement to their squad. Lazio are ready to talk details, but the 34-year-old seems unconvinced by the move to the Premier League.
The Italian defender would like to stay in Serie A, although he has turned down offers from both Monza and Torino this summer. He’s been heavily linked with a move to Simone Inzaghi’s Inter, something he’s seemingly waiting for.
