Inter Submit Initial Offer for Lazio Exile Acerbi

Inter have reportedly submitted an initial offer to Lazio for defender Francesco Acerbi and things are looking positive.

The 34-year-old Italian centre back handed in a transfer request at the end of last season following a difficult year in the Italian capital, but so far a move away has not materialised. Media reports suggest that Acerbi has turned down approaches from both Monza and Torino as he waits to be reunited with Simone Inzaghi at Inter, and his patience may have paid off.

As reported by Il Tempo (via LazioNews24), Inter offered Lazio a €500,000 loan deal with a €3m buy option attached for Acerbi, a good starting point for the negotiations. President Claudio Lotito is happy with the formula, but would like the buy option to be set at €5m.

The Biancocelesti president is also keen on the idea of a conditional obligation to buy clause, linked to specific sporting results.

With less than two weeks left in the summer transfer window, the two clubs will have to work relatively fast if they want to finalise everything in time.
