Lazio Working on Contract Renewal for Starlet Luka Romero

Lazio are looking to tie down star teenager Luka Romero to a new contract as he enters the final year of his current deal.

The 17-year-old Argentinian forward joined the Biancocelesti last summer from RCD Mallorca in a deal worth around €200,000 total, adding an incredibly talented teenager to the Roman club’s youth system. Luka Romero was immediately promoted to the Lazio first team by Maurizio Sarri and made eight Serie A appearances last season.

As reported by La Repubblica (via LazioNews24), Luka Romero’s current contract expires next year so Lazio are working to tie down the 17-year-old to a new deal. The club wants to resolve the issue quickly in order to avoid the risk of losing him on a free transfer next summer.

The 17-year-old forward was called up by Lionel Scaloni recently to train with the Argentina first team, where he met and made a good impression on Lionel Messi.

Sarri is a big believer in Romero and the teenager will undoubtedly get more playing time across this Serie A season.
