Atletico Madrid Swoop in for Lazio Target Reguilon

Atletico Madrid have entered the race to sign Tottenham left back Sergio Reguilon, giving serious competition to Lazio and Fulham.

Biancocelesti coach Maurizio Sarri has been insistent about the need for a natural left back in the squad and Claudio Lotito has responded, agreeing to make a transfer market move despite the fact that Elseid Hysaj hasn’t been sold.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lotito seemingly cleared his final doubts yesterday and started to negotiate with Tottenham, but his delay means that Lazio are now facing competition from Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid.

Reguilon was born in Madrid and would seemingly welcome the move home, with Simeone insistent about a deal. Rumours yesterday suggested that Fulham have also sent in an offer, but Lazio’s main competition now seems to be Atletico.

Things are moving fast and the Roman club could miss out on Reguilon completely if they fail to respond to the danger from Spain.
