Di Canio: ‘We Saw Flashes of Sarrismo vs Inter, Lazio Were Magnificent’

Paolo Di Canio had nothing but praise for Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio following their impressive 3-1 win over Inter on the weekend.

The Biancocelesti came into the match hungry for a strong result in front of their home fans after a frustrating 0-0 draw with Torino the weekend prior, and they duly delivered thanks to goals from Felipe Anderson, Luis Alberto and Pedro. It was a strong early showing from Lazio, undoubtedly giving the team confidence ahead of a long season.

Speaking to Sky Calcio Club (via LazioNews24), Di Canio analysed Lazio’s strong 3-1 win over Inter, suggesting the team were finally showing signs of Sarri’s hand.

We saw flashes of Sarrismo against Inter, now we have to see if they have consistency. Lazio played a magnificent game on a very rough pitch.

Mourinho rightly complained about the Olimpico’s pitch, and on that Lazio showed great quality.

They dared, took risks and played well. Now we have to see if Lazio will have the general talent to make it happen over time.

Lazio’s strong result means that they’re now tied at the top of the Serie A table after three games, tied with Napoli, Milan, Atalanta, Torino and Roma on seven points.

Maintaining early momentum is key for the Roman club if they want to stay involved in the fight for Champions League qualification this season.
