Sampdoria vs Lazio: Match Preview, Expected Lineups, Team News

Lazio will be looking to maintain the momentum following their strong win over Inter in the mid-week clash against Sampdoria tomorrow.

The Biancocelesti have started the season fairly well, picking up two wins and a draw from their opening three games. Maurizio Sarri and the squad understand the importance of starting the season well if they want to stay involved in the race for Champions League qualification this season.

Sampdoria’s campaign has not kicked off positively, suffering frustrating losses to Atalanta and Salernitana. An incredibly dull draw against Juventus didn’t give the side much more to smile about, so they’ll be looking to shift their lethargy against Lazio tomorrow.

The match between the Blucerchiati and the Biancocelesti kicks off at 18.30 local time at Stadio Luigi Ferraris in Genova.

Sampdoria vs Lazio: Team News

Marco Giampaolo has to manage a number of absences heading into the clash, with four players sidelined. Andrea Conti, Nicola Murru, Manuel De Luca and Simone Trimboli have all be ruled out the Lazio match, forcing the Sampdoria coach to work with limited options.

Things are a little simpler for Sarri as his only doubt is Spanish veteran Pedro, suffering from an ankle issue. The rest of the squad are healthy and available to the coach.

Expected Starting Lineups

Giampaolo will have to choose between Gonzalo Villar and Valerio Verre on the right side of midfield, and he’s debating whether to start Alex Ferrari or Maxime Leverbe in the centre of defence.

Sarri has a few areas of consideration, starting with the left back duel between Adam Marusic and Elseid Hysaj. In midfield, Danilo Cataldi seems set to start over Marcos Antonio, and Patric is likely to start over Nicolo Casale in defence.

Sampdoria (4-3-2-1): Audero; Bereszynski, Ferrari, Colley, Augello; Villar, Vieira, Rincon; Sabiri, Djuricic; Caputo.

Lazio (4-3-3): Provedel; Lazzari, Patric, Romagnoli, Marusic; Milinkovic-Savic, Cataldi, Luis Alberto; Felipe Anderson, Immobile, Zaccagni.
