Hysaj Ruled Out of Sampdoria vs Lazio Through Injury

Elseid Hysaj will not take part in today’s Serie A clash between Sampdoria and Lazio after picking up an injury.

The 28-year-old Albanian has seemingly had one foot out the door in the Italian capital over the last few months, with the Biancocelesti keen to replace the former Napoli left back. No buyer could be found, however, leaving Hysaj in the Lazio squad. He’ll likely play a back-up role this season.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Hysaj has been ruled out of Lazio’s away clash against Sampdoria this evening due to a bruised chest. The 28-year-old will stay in Rome and will undergo a round of medical tests later this week to understand the extent of the issue.

The injury to the Albanian further limits Sarri’s options on the left flank, with just the adapted Adam Marusic and Stefan Radu able to fill the role. Lazio had been looking for a reinforcement on the transfer market but ultimately a signing was never made.
