After a tough loss to Napoli, Lazio are preparing to bounce back in their Europa League opener against Feyenoord.
The Biancocelesti are hungry to get back out onto the pitch following their miserable evening against the Partenopei, a game that saw them suffer from both poor officiating decisions and a clear gap in quality. Maurizio Sarri’s side barely have time to lick their wounds, with Feyenoord ready to arrive in Rome this week.
Il Tempo (via LazioNews24) details how Sarri is considering rotating the Lazio squad a little for the upcoming Europa League opener against Feyenoord, wanting to give his usual starting 11 a break.
Nicolo Casale seems set to start over either Alessio Romagnoli or Patric, Luis Maximiano will start instead of Ivan Provedel, and Elseid Hysaj and Stefan Radu will play out wide. Marcos Antonio and Toma Basic could start in midfield, and Matteo Cancellieri is expected to start over Ciro Immobile.
Lazio know the importance of kicking off their Europa League campaign on the front foot and considering that Feyenoord are likely their toughest opponents in the group, a victory this week could be key in finishing top of Group F.
Fruit Ford is our biggest challenger. Must win this game and best bu a couple goals. If this article is correct and Sarri plans on making seven changes that spells disaster in my books.
Alonso is too small and weak for serie A. Mistake purchase IMO. Basic is good but he does not give you the offensive quality of Alberto. I’d start him however. On defense, making three changes is challenging as their has been no time for these four starters to build chemistry.
