Hellas Verona’s Ivan Ilic is ready to take to the pitch of the Stadio Olimpico today and Lazio will carefully observe the Serbian talent.
The Biancocelesti have been close to the Gialloblu recently, carrying out regular business together in deals that have seen Mattia Zaccagni, Nicolo Casale and Matteo Cancellieri all head to Rome in the last year. Presidents Claudio Lotito and Maurizio Setti have a good relationship and further business seems likely in the coming transfer windows.
As detailed by La Repubblica (via LazioNews24), Maurizio Sarri is a big fan of Ilic and Lazio were keen to pick up the 21-year-old in the summer, but they failed to find an agreement with Hellas Verona. The Roman club are still interested and so they’re excited to see him in person as Lazio face Verona this evening.
The 21-year-old Serbian midfielder couldn’t arrive this summer because Luis Alberto remained in Rome, but things could change over the next 12 months.
