Lazio struggled to find positive results after playing in the Europa League last season, something they’re hoping to change in today’s match against Hellas Verona.

The Biancocelesti secured an exciting 4-2 win over Dutch side Feyenoord in their European opener earlier this week, giving the team confidence after a strong display against a tough opponent. Lazio are looking mentally stronger than they did last season, but the real test seemingly comes today.

As highlighted by La Repubblica (via LazioNews24), Lazio failed to impress in any of their league matches after playing in the Europa League last season, suffering four defeats and a draw at home against Cagliari after their European commitments.

Maurizio Sarri has been working hard trying to improve the squad’s mental strength and their energy levels after mid-week games, and he’ll see the fruits of his labour against Hellas Verona this afternoon.

Dropping points against the Gialloblu would seem to confirm that further work is still needed in this regard, so it’ll be a tough test for the Roman club.
