Maurizio Sarri has been fined €4000 but avoided suspended after his complaints about the quality of officiating on display in Lazio’s recent loss to Napoli.
The 63-year-old Italian coach was not impressed after the full time whistle of the recent clash between the Biancocelesti and the Partenopei, drawing attention to a possible missed penalty on full back Manuel Lazzari.
Following the match, Sarri said: “You behaved badly with Bologna and these are the consequences. The club and the designator must take action.”
As highlighted by SportMediaset (via LazioNews24), Sarri has been handed a €4000 fine for his complaints towards the officials in the Napoli clash but has not been suspended.
The Lazio coach has also received a formal warning for showing a middle finger to the Hellas Verona bench during the 2-0 win on the weekend, but again avoided a one-match ban.
Lazio have also been fined €4000 for his complaints, but they’ll be thankful suspension was avoided.
Therefore, Sarri will be on the touchline for the Biancocelesti’s next Serie A clash against Cremonese, but he’ll have to be careful to avoid further controversy.
