Agent of Valeri: ‘Lazio & Milan Explored a Move in the Summer’

Pietro Parente, the agent of Cremonese talent Emanuele Valeri, confirmed that both Lazio and Milan explored a move for the 23-year-old in the summer.

Both clubs are looking to add a new left back to their squad and Lazio in particular seemed desperate to pick one up, but ultimately no full back arrived, leaving Maurizio Sarri to work with Stefan Radu, Elseid Hysaj and Adam Marusic in the role. The Biancocelesti will likely work hard to pick up a new left back in the coming transfer windows.

Speaking to TMW (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Parente confirmed that Lazio and Milan sounded out a move for Valeri in the summer transfer window.

Lazio and Milan are two clubs that have sounded him out. After all, he showed on the weekend that he’s ready for a further step forward, that he’s ready for the so-called big teams, not only on a technical level but also in terms of personality.

He then touched on the 23-year-old Italian left back’s plans for the future.

The boy is only focused on Cremonese and on avoiding relegation, which is the club’s first objective, regarding the future we’l see.

Obviously the goal is to grow more and more, and woe if it were not so, the hunger must always be there, if the opportunity presents itself tomorrow we’ll take advantage of it.

Valeri joined Cremonese in September 2020 from Cesena in a deal worth around €100,000. Since his arrival, the Italian left back has exploded onto the scene, impressing across his 72 appearances for the club and playing a vital role in their successful promotion run last season.

The 23-year-old has scored six goals and provided three assists for the Lombardy side, including an equaliser against Atalanta earlier this month.
