Despite a summer filled with transfer rumours and apparent unhappiness, Luis Alberto has bounced back and impressed at Lazio so far this season.

The 29-year-old Spanish midfielder reportedly handed in a transfer request in the summer, keen to return to the Iberian peninsula and join up with Sevilla. He was left out of two pre-season friendlies but despite talks between the two clubs, a deal couldn’t be ironed out and Luis Alberto remained with Lazio.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Luis Alberto has seemingly put the uncertainties of the summer behind him as he again proves his qualities at Lazio. He has scored twice this season against Inter and Hellas Verona, both after he came off the bench, and he’s again playing with a smile on his face.

Luis Alberto also scored a goal and provided an assist in the 4-2 Europa League win over Feyenoord and he’s keen to continue shining under Maurizio Sarri this season, despite their apparent differences over the last few months.
