Lazio Confirm Thigh Injury for Defender Casale

Lazio have announced that defender Nicolo Casale has suffered a moderate injury to his left thigh.

The 24-year-old Italian centre back joined the Biancocelesti in the summer from Hellas Verona in a deal worth around €7m, and so far things have kicked off a little slowly in the Italian capital. Casale has struggled to displace the defensive duo of Alessio Romagnoli and Patric, limiting his minutes on the pitch.

As announced by Lazio (via LazioNews24), medical tests carried out at the Paideia clinic in Rome confirmed that Casale had suffered a low-medium grade injury to the adductor of his left thigh. The 24-year-old has started his recovery process and will be monitored on a daily basis, with further tests planned next week to evaluate the extent of the issue.

The busy schedule is clearly taking its toll on footballers around Europe, with many clubs losing their players to a variety of muscle injuries. The upcoming World Cup in Qatar will seemingly exacerbate this issue further.
