Ciro Immobile is disappointed that he’ll be missing out on Italy’s match against Hungary this evening after being recalled by Lazio.
The 32-year-old Italian striker did not take part in the 1-0 Nations League win over England last week due to muscle injuries, but medical tests on the weekend cleared him to take part in the final match of the international break against Hungary tonight.
Despite that, Lazio president Claudio Lotito personally requested that he return to Rome, concerned that he was being rushed back into action.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Immobile was incredibly keen to take part in tonight’s game against Hungary in a bid to restore his confidence after a tough few months with the Italian national team.
The 32-year-old has not scored since the Euro 2020 group stage win over Switzerland in June of last year and he was desperate to score tonight, but now he’ll be forced to watch the match from home, leaving him disappointed.
