Lazio Optimistic as Lazzari Nears Return From Hamstring Injury

Manuel Lazzari is recovering well from his recent hamstring injury and Lazio are optimistic that he’ll be able to return to action soon.

The 28-year-old Italian full back suffered the first-degree injury to his right hamstring during the Biancocelesti’s 2-0 win over Hellas Verona earlier this month, forcing him to limp off the pitch visibly pained. Lazzari missed the matches against FC Midtjylland and Cremonese but he’s keen to get back on track.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Lazzari is doing well with his recovery process and Lazio are now confident that he’ll be able to return to the team soon. The 28-year-old is set to return to squad training in Formello this week but may not start against Spezia on the weekend, as the club aren’t willing to rush his recovery.

Lazzari has become an important part of Maurizio Sarri’s squad in Rome, proving himself a confident right back in the four-man defence and looking positive both offensively and defensively.
