Lazio vs Spezia: Recent History

Lazio have had a positive start to the season in Maurizio Sarri’s second year, sitting 4th in the Serie A table after the first seven games. Despite a painful slip in the Europa League against FC Midtjylland, the team have looked electric as they continue to show signs of Sarrismo in the Italian capital.

Spezia have had a decent start to their campaign, suffering tough losses to Juventus, Napoli and Inter but looking solid against Empoli, Sampdoria and Sassuolo. The Ligurians will be dreaming of an upset in Rome as they continue building a positive brand of football in the North West of Italy.

The Biancocelesti picked up two strong wins over the Aquilotti last season, winning 6-1 at home in August and 4-3 away in April.

Expected Starting Lineups

Lazio are not at their best heading into this match, with star striker Ciro Immobile and growing full back Manuel Lazzari both in doubt due to muscle injuries. Neither player is likely to start but could appear off the bench should things go south. Nicolo Casale has been ruled out of action for a few weeks due to an injury to the adductor of his left thigh.

Spezia are dealing with their own physical concerns ahead of this match, having four players unavailable. Viktor Kovalenko, Jacopo Sala, Arkadiusz Reca and Kelvin Amian are all sidelined, restricting Luca Gotti’s options a little.

Lazio (4-3-3): Provedel; Lazzari, Patric, Romagnoli, Marusic; Milinkovic-Savic, Cataldi, Luis Alberto; Felipe Anderson, Cancellieri, Zaccagni.

Spezia (3-5-2): Dragowski; Ampadu, Kiwior, Nikolau; Holm, Agudelo, Bourabia; Ellertsson, Bastoni; Gyasi, Nzola.
