Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is a key attacking figure in the Lazio midfield and he’s hungry to secure his 50th Serie A goal in this weekend’s clash with Spezia.
The 27-year-old Serbian is one of the strongest midfielders in the world, joining Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne in the incredibly exclusive list of midfielders who have scored at least 20 goals and provided at least 20 assists over the last three seasons.
Despite a summer filled with transfer market noise, Milinkovic-Savic has continued to show his best with Lazio.
As highlighted by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Milinkovic-Savic scored his 49th Serie A goal in Lazio’s important 4-0 win over Cremonese before the international break and he’s keen to hit the 50-goal milestone in the upcoming match against Spezia.
The Serbian midfielder has scored 60 goals total for the Biancocelesti since his arrival in 2015, netting five in the Coppa Italia and six in the Europa League.
Milinkovic-Savic is the only midfielder in Lazio’s top 10 record Serie A goalscorers and one more goal would see him overtake Renzo Garlaschelli to sit 9th in the list. He’s also only five behind legendary German forward Miroslav Klose.
