Sarri Asks Lazio for Two Key Reinforcements in January

Maurizio Sarri wants Lazio to make two important signings in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Biancocelesti worked hard in the summer to please the 63-year-old Italian coach, overhauling the squad with new additions like Ivan Provedel, Alessio Romagnoli, Marcos Antonio and Matteo Cancellieri. Despite their work, a few gaps still exist in the team, something Sarri wants filled in January.

As reported by Tuttosport (via LazioNews24), Sarri has asked Lazio to pick up a new left back and a new backup striker in the winter window, two roles that weren’t filled in the summer.

Regarding the left back search, Sarri’s preferred choice is Empoli’s Fabiano Parisi, a player who’s been followed for a little while now. The Tuscan side value him at around €12 million, a figure that also takes into account the 10% that the Azzurri need to pay Avellino due to a future resale clause.

Things are a little less clear for a backup striker. One name that’s been floated is Sampdoria’s Francesco Caputo, but Sarri is unhappy with the players age and would prefer a younger option, keen to have a player who can study and grow working under Ciro Immobile.

Claudio Lotito and Igli Tare are on the hunt, desperate to please Sarri again as the team fight for a top four finish this season.
