Sturm Graz Forward Ajeti on Lazio Form & Immobile Danger

Albian Ajeti underlined the need for Sturm Graz to pay particular attention to Lazio star Ciro Immobile and revealed he was once in talks to join the Roman club.

The Austrian outfit currently sit second in the Bundesliga after 10 games, sitting only two points behind league leaders RB Salzburg, and they’ve had an okay start in their Europa League campaign, beating FC Midtjylland 1-0 but losing 6-0 away to Feyenoord.

All three teams in Group F are tied on three points, making the upcoming round of games key in the fight for knock-out progression.

Speaking to Kroinen Zeitung (via LazioNews24), Ajeti first discussed his interest in Serie A and appreciation of Lazio.

I follow Serie A closely and know almost all the teams very well. Lazio are a thrilling team. I’m looking forward to this match. We have respect for the Romans, but we certainly won’t hide.

He knew which player Sturm Graz needed to contain as they prepare to host the Biancocelesti.

The most dangerous player is probably striker Ciro Immobile. He scores 20 to 30 goals a year and is also in the Italian national team. We have to be very careful of him.

The Swiss forward commented on his relationship with Lazio winger Felipe Anderson.

We played together at West Ham, we keep in touch via WhatsApp, we messaged each other just two days ago.

Finally, Ajeti confirmed that he was once considering joining Lazio before ultimately signing for a different club.

Yes, it’s true. There were talks. In the end I turned down the Biancocelesti, but only because my instinct advised me to go to West Ham.
