Lazio Want New Contract for Milinkovic-Savic as Juventus Remain Keen

Lazio have prepared a new contract for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and are a little anxious as Juventus follow the situation closely.

The Serbian midfielder has continued to impress in Maurizio Sarri’s midfield, being one of the stars in the show in Rome as Lazio start the season in fine form. Milinkovic-Savic has scored three goals and provided five assists in the first eight Serie A games, further proving himself to be one of the best midfielders in the world.

As detailed by Calciomercato.com, Lazio want to tie down Milinkovic-Savic to a new contract lasting until 2026, but his agent Mateja Kezman isn’t keen to open negotiations until after the World Cup in Qatar. The 27-year-old’s current deal expires in 2024 and the club don’t want to be left in a tough position.

Juventus are keeping a close eye on the situation and are seemingly planning another move next summer, possibly looking to include some players in a deal. Claudio Lotito is unlikely to accept any player swaps, preferring cash-only offers, but things could get difficult if a new deal isn’t signed in the coming months.
