Lazio vs Sturm Graz: Recent History

The two teams faced off against each other last week in the third Europa League group game and neither side could find a winner in Austria. Sturm Graz were better on the night and left frustrated by Lazio’s rock solid defence, but that won’t be enough for Maurizio Sarri’s side now as they fight for a spot in the Round of 16 of the competition.

Lazio picked up their third consecutive 4-0 win in Serie A earlier in the week, leaving Fiorentina battered and bruised in Florence. Sturm Graz’s last outing was a tiring 2-1 win over WSG Tirol.

All four teams in Group F of the Europa League are tied on four points, so a win against the Austrian side is crucial for Lazio if they want to continue fighting for a spot in the Round of 16.

Expected Starting Lineups

Maurizio Sarri has a fully fit Lazio squad available to him for the match and will likely pick a similar starting 11 to the one that picked up a 0-0 draw in Austria last week, although Patric will come in for Mario Gila. Sturm Graz’s only absence is midfielder Vesel Demaku.

Lazio (4-3-3): Provedel; Hysaj, Gila, Romagnoli, Marusic; Milinkovic-Savic, Cataldi, Luis Alberto; Felipe Anderson, Immobile, Zaccagni.

Sturm Graz (4-3-1-2): Siebenhandl; Gazibegovic, Wuthrich, Borkovic, Dante; Horvat, Stankovic, Prass; Boving; Sarkaria, Emegha.
