Lazio Ready to Discuss New Contract With Hometown Hero

Lazio are gearing up for contract renewal talks with local boy Danilo Cataldi, who has spent his entire career so far attached to the club.

The 28-year-old Italian midfielder is a product of the Biancocelesti’s youth system and one of the few players in the squad born and raised in the Italian capital, being a Lazio fan from birth.

Cataldi struggled to show his best under previous coach Simone Inzaghi but has grown into a key figure under Maurizio Sarri, proving himself a consistent and talented midfielder.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Cataldi has proven his qualities at Lazio under Sarri and with his current contract set to expire in 2024, the club are keen to tie him down to a new deal.

The Roman club are prepared to start discussing a new deal during the World Cup break next month. The 28-year-old has the full trust of Sarri and has an excellent relationship with the Biancocelesti management, so it’s likely that an agreement will be reached fairly quickly.
