Lazio have been handed a fine by the Lega Serie A sporting judge following a fan incident in the win over Atalanta.
The Biancocelesti picked up an incredibly important 2-0 win over Gian Piero Gasperini’s side in Bergamo on Sunday, a positive step forward considering the absence of injured star Ciro Immobile. The victory will give Lazio and Maurizio Sarri confidence that the team can still play well even without their talismanic striker.
As announced by the Lega Serie A sporting judge (via LazioNews24), Lazio have been handed a €2000 fine because a fan threw a half-full drink onto the pitch in the 52nd minute of the match.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has also been handed a warning for ‘unfair behaviour towards an opponent’, related to his 88th minute yellow card for a rough foul.
Serie A fans were not too impressed with the sporting judge’s lack of punishment for Roma full back Rick Karsdorp, who pushed and expressed anger towards referee Massimiliano Irrati after the full time whistle of their loss to Napoli.
