Arsenal are reportedly ready to offer €60m plus Albert Sambi Lokonga for Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
The 27-year-old Serbian midfielder was heavily linked with a high-profile move in the summer transfer window, with both Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United keen to snap him up, but neither side managed to submit a convincing offer.
With less than two years left on his Lazio contract, Milinkovic-Savic could be ready for a new adventure after seven years in the Italian capital.
As reported by CalcioMercatoWeb and The Sun, Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta is a big fan of Milinkovic-Savic and the club are willing to satisfy their coach, so they’re ready with an offer of €60m plus the 23-year-old Sambi Lokonga, who has struggled for minutes in the Premier League this season.
Former Gunners forward Paul Merson recently spoke highly about Milinkovic-Savic in his column for the Daily Star and the club have seemingly listened to his recommendation.
I think Milinkovic-Savic is a lovely player. A really top-drawer player. The way he played for Lazio last season I personally think he is the best midfield player in Italy.
I know Manchester United have been linked with him in the past, but why there isn’t a queue of clubs lining up to buy the Serbian, I do not know.
I think a lot of clubs are missing a trick.
