Maurizio Sarri is considering calling his Lazio squad into a training retreat in the run-up to the Derby della Capitale.
The Biancocelesti suffered a miserable 3-1 loss to Salernitana on the weekend, a result that hasn’t given them confidence ahead of their crucial Europa League match against Feyenoord. After their European outing, Lazio will face intercity rivals Roma in the first derby of the season, a game that always carries extra weight.
As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Sarri was furious with his squad after the defeat to Salernitana and expects to see a convincing response against Feyenoord. Regardless of that result, he’s considering then keeping the players in a training retreat until after the Derby della Capitale against Roma.
His Giallorossi counterpart Jose Mourinho was less concerned about the derby, telling the media recently that he was only interested in the club’s next game against Ludogorets.
The Derby della Capitale kicks off at 18.00 local time on Sunday 6th November.
