The Last Time Lazio Were Without Both Their Stars in Serie A

Lazio will have to do without their two talismanic figures Ciro Immobile and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic for the upcoming Derby della Capitale.

The Biancocelesti lost star striker Immobile to a hamstring injury in last month’s goalless draw with Udinese and Milinkovic-Savic has been ruled out of the Roma clash because of a yellow-card suspension following his booking in the loss to Salernitana.

As highlighted by LazioNews24, Lazio have only had to do without both Immobile and Milinkovic-Savic once before in the league over the last six years, back in May 2021. It occurred on Simone Inzaghi’s last game at the club, when the Italian striker was out due to a fever and the Serbian midfielder was unavailable following a nose operation.

Lazio lost that match to Sassuolo 2-0, a result that had no bearing on their final finish in the league.

The Biancocelesti have played without Immobile and Milinkovic-Savic six times in Europe, with Inzaghi sometimes deciding to rest them for clashes on the continent.
