De Rossi: ‘No Predications for the Derby Della Capitale’

Daniele De Rossi was feeling the tension ahead of the upcoming Derby della Capitale between Roma and Lazio.

The two Roman sides are gearing up for one of the most important matches of their seasons, a derby that carries an extra weight compared to every other game in the season. Clashes between Roma and Lazio are always edgy and fiery affairs and the upcoming duel between Maurizio Sarri’s side and Jose Mourinho’s squad will prove no different.

Speaking to Sky Sports Italia (via LazioNews24), De Rossi looked ahead to the Derby della Capitale and commented on where he’ll watch his beloved Roma take on Lazio.

I’ll be with my family, who I miss a lot. I like this job a lot, but I’ll be with them. The derby will be played one kilometre from my home, but I don’t want to judge anything because, for now, I’m an outsider.

Today there were more Roma scarves here at the stadium than anything else, but I have to keep my distance.

I don’t make predictions, there’s already a good coach who knows what he has to do. The TV will be on, of course, and I’ll ask for an hour and a half break to watch it.

Last season, Lazio secured an edgy 3-2 win over Roma in their first meeting but suffered a painful 3-0 loss in the return clash. Sarri will have to do without key talismans Ciro Immobile and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the derby, with the former out injured and the latter suspended.

Roma also have to manage a number of absences, with stars like Paulo Dybala and Georginio Wijnaldum sidelined with injury.
