Danilo Cataldi was one of the heroes in Lazio’s Derby della Capitale win over Roma and is continuing to show why he deserves a new contract.
The 28-year-old Italian midfielder has been one of the players to benefit most from the arrival of Maurizio Sarri last year, growing tremendously to become one of the best performers in the squad on a regular basis.
Cataldi has already made 17 appearances this season for Lazio and is showing his strengths as a leader and captain on the pitch.
As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Cataldi has finally managed to show his true potential on the Lazio stage and now seems the right time to work on a new contract for him.
The 28-year-old’s current deal expires in 2024 and the hope is that he’ll be tied down to a new deal expiring in 2027.
The ball is now in president Claudio Lotito’s court, who must find an agreement with the Italian midfielder in the coming months.
