Lotito Calms Fans Regarding Renewal of Promising Lazio Talent

Club president Claudio Lotito called talented youngster Luka Romero ‘the future of Lazio’ when discussing the teenager’s contract renewal.

The 17-year-old Argentinian forward is one of the most promising young players in the Biancocelesti squad and has already made a handful of first team appearances under Maurizio Sarri over the last year. Romero’s contract expires with Lazio at the end of the season, pushing the club to start talks over a new deal.

Speaking via Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Lotito made a brief comment to reassure the Lazio fans that Luka Romero would not be going anywhere anytime soon, saying: “The fans must be calm. He is and will be the future of Lazio.”

The Roman club have not yet started the contract renewal talks but both parties are keen to agree a long-term deal.

The 17-year-old Romero has made four first team Lazio appearances this season, for a total of 45 minutes. He was given a silly red card in the 1-0 loss to Feyenoord last week after petulantly kicking the ball away following a booking.
