Maurizio Sarri has not always had the best of times when facing off against Massimiliano Allegri but he’ll be hoping to get the edge in today’s game between Juventus and Lazio.
The pair have a history in Serie A and were the protagonists of a number of exciting title races between the Bianconeri and Napoli in years prior. Sarri was also the replacement for Allegri at Juventus in 2019 and so the trip to Turin has an extra weight for the 63-year-old Italian coach.
As highlighted by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Sarri has lost to Allegri in eight of their 13 head-to-head clashes, winning three and drawing the other two. His last win against the Bianconeri coach came in April 2018, when his Napoli side won 1-0 in Turin.
Last season, Lazio suffered a 2-0 loss at home to Allegri’s Juventus and could only manage a 2-2 draw away, leaving them hungry for revenge this campaign.
