Lazio Set Sights on Benfica Ace Ahead of January Window

Maurizio Sarri is keen for Lazio to sign a new striker in January and his dream choice is Benfica forward Rafa Silva.

The recent hamstring injury suffered by star striker Ciro Immobile highlighted the team’s limitations going forward without the 32-year-old. The sale of Vedat Muriqi in the summer left a clear gap in the forward line, something Sarri is hoping Lazio will fill in the upcoming January transfer window.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Sarri is a big fan of Rafa Silva and has suggested Lazio make a move for the 29-year-old in January.

The Portuguese striker’s contract expires in 2024 and he could be signed for a fairly low-cost fee in the winter window. He would provide a key attacking boost to Sarri’s squad and undoubtedly help in the fight for a top four finish.

Rafa Silva has scored 11 goals and provided five assists in 23 appearances across all competitions this season for Benfica.
