Lazio Working on New Contract for Buccaneering Right Back

Manuel Lazzari has turned things around under Maurizio Sarri and Lazio are ready to reward him with a new contract.

The 28-year-old Italian right back initially struggled to adapt to Sarri’s 4-3-3 system and there were rumours that he could depart the club in the January transfer window earlier this year. Since then, Lazzari has found the right rhythms in the Italian capital and is now a reliable and exciting figure in the Lazio squad.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazzari has reached a verbal agreement with Lazio regarding a new contract, which will tie him to the club until 2027 and increase his salary from €1.3 million net per season to €1.6 million net. Pen could be put to paper as early as next week, although the Biancocelesti aren’t in a rush.

Lazzari has made 134 appearances for Lazio since his arrival from SPAL back in 2019. In that time, he’s scored four goals and provided 26 assists.
