Lazio Refuse to Give Up in Chase of Hellas Verona Starlet

Maurizio Sarri is still keen for Lazio to pick up Ivan Ilic in the January transfer window but space will need to be made for the Hellas Verona midfielder.

The Biancocelesti were interested in signing the 21-year-old Serbian midfielder in the summer but ultimately looked elsewhere as they couldn’t generate the necessary funds for a move. Ilic has struggled to show his best this season as Verona fail to perform on the pitch, but he is still a highly touted talent in the Italian peninsula.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Sarri still wants Lazio to sign Ilic and January could be the perfect time to pick up the 21-year-old, with the Gialloblu current languishing in the relegation zone.

He is valued at around €15m, an affordable price, but Lazio will need to find a new home for Luis Alberto before they can complete a move. The Spaniard has no shortage of suitors and may finally leave the Italian capital in the winter window.
