Luis Alberto’s Agent: ‘He’s Not Comfortable in This Situation at Lazio’

Miguele Alfaro, a member of the entourage of Luis Alberto, discussed his client’s difficult situation at Lazio.

The 30-year-old Spaniard has struggled for consistent playing time under Maurizio Sarri this season, only making five Serie A starts and playing a total of 540 minutes in the league. Sarri has mostly used Luis Alberto as an important option off the bench, leaving him unsatisfied and frustrated after a summer in which he was heavily linked with a move to Sevilla.

Speaking to Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Alfaro discussed his client Luis Alberto’s ongoing unhappiness with Lazio and possible plan for the future.

Luis Alberto’s situation will be handled according to the logic of what is happening. Everything is respectable and it is rightly up to the coach to decide and choose.

But it is also respectable that a player, who is already part of the club’s history, who has won, who has given so much and is still giving everything for Lazio, doesn’t feel comfortable in a situation like this.

Therefore, both the club and us want to find a way not to continue living with an uncomfortable situation, as Luis Alberto wants to confirm that he still has many years of football and career ahead of him. And cycles can end sooner or later.

The 30-year-old Luis Alberto is contracted to Lazio until 2025 and is valued at around €30m by president Claudio Lotito. Recent media reports linked him with multiple Spanish clubs, including Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and Valencia.

Last season, the Spanish midfielder scored five goals and provided 11 assists in 34 Serie A appearances under Sarri.
