Lazio Considering Winter Training Camp in Turkey: The Details

Lazio are considering organising a winter training retreat to Turkey during the World Cup break.

The Biancocelesti only sent two players to the World Cup in Qatar, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic with Serbia and Matias Vecino with Uruguay, leaving the rest of the squad available to Maurizio Sarri. The players are currently on a short holiday following the first half of the season and will meet up to resume training in Formello on 29th November.

As detailed by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio are seriously thinking about heading to Turkey for a short training camp next month. The current idea would be to head to Belek, a resort on the Mediterranean coast, from 12th to 23rd December.

Two or three friendly matches would be scheduled for this period, allowing the players to keep some match sharpness ahead of the restart of Serie A on 4th January, when Lazio face Lecce.

Sarri initially rejected the idea of heading to Argentina for a training camp but has seemingly given his consent for the Turkey plan.
