Arsenal have reignited their interest in Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and are ready to fight with Juventus for his signature in January, reports detail.
The 27-year-old Serbian midfielder’s contract expires with Lazio in around 18 months, making him one of the hottest topics ahead of the January transfer window. Milinkovic-Savic is currently focused on the World Cup in Qatar but transfer market noise is starting to increase, with a winter departure looking seriously possible.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Arsenal held talks with Milinkovic-Savic’s agent Mateja Kezman in the summer but looked elsewhere, and have now reignited their interest in the Lazio star.
The Gunners are reportedly ready to submit an offer of €60m plus Albert Sambi Lokonga for the Serbian midfielder, a better proposal than the €50m one seemingly prepared by Juventus.
Lazio are desperate to tie him down to a new contract but he’s only willing to pen a new deal with a €40-50m release clause, something the Biancocelesti are hoping to increase to around €70m.
