Lazio have officially announced that full back Manuel Lazzari has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
The Italian right back joined the Biancocelesti from SPAL in the summer of 2019 in a deal worth around €15m. He’s been an important part of the Lazio squad since his arrival, first shining under Simone Inzaghi before developing into a consistent figure under Maurizio Sarri. Last season, Lazzari scored three goals and provided three assists in 31 Serie A appearances.
As announced by Lazio, Lazzari has signed a new five-year contract with the club, tying him to the Biancocelesti until June 2027. His salary has also been increased, with reports suggesting that he’ll earn around €1.6m net per season.
A year ago, the 28-year-old was being increasingly linked with a move away from the Italian capital after struggling to adapt to Sarri’s system, but since then Lazzari has turned things around and proven his abilities on the right side of the pitch.
