Uruguay-South Korea & Brazil-Serbia: Lazio in Action at World Cup

Two Lazio players take to the pitch in Qatar in today’s World Cup group games between Uruguay-South Korea and Brazil-Serbia.

Italy’s failure to qualify for the tournament in Qatar means only two Biancocelesti players have been called up for the World Cup, leaving Maurizio Sarri with the majority of his squad during this six-week international break.

Lazio are currently working on organising a training retreat for next month, keen to be fully prepared for the second half of the season.

Matias Vecino will be the first Lazio player involved in action at the World Cup in Qatar, being a part of the Uruguay squad for their game against South Korea. Later in the day, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic will undoubtedly start in Serbia’s blockbuster group game against favourites Brazil.

Lazio will be keeping a close eye on their two representatives at the tournament, hoping to see both avoid any possible injuries. A good tournament for Milinkovic-Savic could have important ramifications in the transfer market.
