Lazio Star Kept Quiet in Serbia’s World Cup Loss to Brazil

Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic was unable to be the difference maker in Serbia’s tough World Cup loss to Brazil.

The Eagles were clearly outclassed by the Selecao in their Group G clash yesterday, losing 2-0 after a classy brace for Tottenham forward Richarlison. Milinkovic-Savic played the full 90 minutes of the match at the Lusail Iconic Stadium but was unable to fully show his skills on the world stage.

Milinkovic-Savic did play an active role for Serbia, completing 27 passes, taking 53 touches, playing four passes into the final third and winning two ground duels, but he wasn’t able to unlock things in the final third, allowing Brazil to snatch all three points.

The Lazio star is an experienced international and will be frustrated that he was unable to guide his country to victory.

Serbia will now have to bounce back ahead of their second Group G clash against Cameroon on 28th November. Their final group game is against Switzerland on December 2, which will likely prove a must-win clash.
